SPEAKINg ON:

Active Listening in the Metaverse

Biggest takeaway

Active listening takes time. There's no shortcuts. It's not about agendas, it's genuinely about your willingness to make time for another person to share what's on their mind, no strings attached.

Voice I am amplifying

Every interaction we have with someone is an opportunity for Christ to be magnified through our lives. Living what we believe, IRL, VR, AR, digitally, social media, whatever realm we are in, is a real opportunity to let our lights shine.

Lie I’m silencing

That ministry has to take place in a certain place or a certain way to be effective. I'm constantly reminding myself that where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name, wherever they are, however, He's in their midst. And this is mainly happening in real life, in real time, not just for an event.

Take action

The next time you say you're listening...really mean it. Drop the agendas, the mental multitasking, the rush, even your individual needs for the moment...and just listen, with openness and no strings attached.

QUOTABLE

Just Listen. Not to fix the person, not to judge or to preach, simply listen to genuinely hear them out.
